Wu group of UC Berkeley's Materials Science and Engineering department recently published a paper on Science, introducing a rooftop material that automatically switches between radiative cooling in the summer and heat retention in the winter, largely lowering household energy costs.

Besides being used as the practical roof, this material may also have potential as a thermally protective coating to prolong battery life in smartphones and laptops, and shield satellites and cars from extremely high or low temperatures. It could also be used to make temperature-regulating fabric for tents, greenhouse coverings, and even hats and jackets.

Given its wide range of applications and promising future, we are looking forward to collaborations. If interested, please feel free to contact us!
